The Cornhill-MTS option

Cornhill Australia is glad to be in partnership with MTS (Ministry Training Strategy). Many Cornhill Australia students are also MTS Apprentices.

MTS Apprentices can choose the Cornhill-MTS pathway for their apprenticeship,  enabling them to incorporate study with Cornhill Australia into their MTS training.

The advantages are:

• You can do both the Cornhill Australia and the MTS programs. This gives you an excellent opportunity to develop your preaching skills, as part of your ministry training.
• You complete four subjects of the ‘Academic Studies in Theology Certificate (ASTC)’ face-to-face at Cornhill Sydney (rather than on-line). This is achieved by doing the normal Cornhill Australia course, and having some of your practice talks formally assessed.
• You may be eligible for Austudy and Youth Allowance support.
• Cornhill Australia fees are paid by the MTS scholarship fund (and donations to that fund are tax-deductible). This could be a tax-effective way to fund your Cornhill studies (and your MTS apprenticehip), potentially worth up to an equivalent of (approx) $10,000.

This arrangement offers great financial benefits, if you are eligible for Austudy and/or you can make good use of the tax-deductible scholarship donations. However, it is quite possible that you will not be eligible for Austudy, or be able to attract tax-deductible donations.  Please look into this carefully, and seek advice from both MTS and Cornhill Australia.
